Programme on Natural Hazards, Infrastructure, Floods and Slides (NIFS

“Naturfare, infrastruktur, flom og skred”) extending over the period 2012–2015. The
research is a joint effort by the Norwegian National Rail Administration, the
Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate and the Norwegian Public
Roads Administration (NPRA). Bjørn Kristoffer Dolva was born in Skien and is a
building and construction engineer who graduated in 1982 from the Telemark
College (TMIH, now the University College of Telemark). He has an MSc
(Candidatus scientiarum) in geotechnical engineering (1989) from the University of
Oslo. Starting in 1985, he has worked at the Road Research Laboratory of the
Norwegian Public Roads Administration (Oslo 1985–97), then in Telemark (1997–
2003) and in NPRA Region South (2003–2012), where he has been responsible for
geotechnical works.

is Chief Engineer and leads the Section for Rock Slides in the
Landslides, Floods and River Management Division at the Norwegian Water
Resources and Energy Directorate. He is Adjunct Professor at the University of
Tromsø, Norway's Arctic University. Lars Harald Blikra has a PhD in geology from
the University of Bergen. He worked many years at the Geological Survey of
Norway as both researcher and Section Head. He was Chief Geologist at the
Åknes/Tafjord Preparedness Centre. He was also Adjunct Professor at the
Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and the University
College of Sogn og Fjordane.

is Research Manager at SP Fire Research AS in Trondheim.
She graduated in 1986 from the Division of Physics and Mathematics at NTH (now
the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, NTNU). In 1991, she started
at the Norwegian Fire Research Laboratory at SINTEF in Trondheim (now SP Fire
Research). She completed a PhD on smoke production during fires at NTNU in 2002.
She then worked four years as Assistant Professor at NTNU, Faculty for building,
construction and transportation. Anne Steen-Hansen is Vice-chair in the Trøndelag
fire and rescue service and board member of EGOLF, the European Group of
Organisations for Fire Testing, Inspection and Certification. She has worked many
years with fire safety, both on land and offshore. Her competence include the
behaviour of materials under fires. She is often called upon as expert witness in court
cases and public investigation commissions of fires.

is Project Director for the Copenhagen Climate Change Adaptation
Plan. He is an Environmental Engineer. His expertise lies within water, environment,
climate change adaptation and development of recreational opportunities, including
